Summary
The Horticulture Apprenticeship Educator will guide teens through hands-on, project-based learning rooted in leadership, sustainability, and workforce preparation. This educator plays a key role in shaping real-world skill development, supporting career exploration, and building confident young leaders.
What are my main responsibilities?
- Teach and facilitate engaging horticulture-based apprenticeship sessions
- Design lesson plans, learning objectives, and project-based experiences
- Coordinate field trips, speakers, supplies, and greenhouse-aligned activities
- Track apprentice attendance, assessments, payroll, and program records
- Communicate with teens and families about schedules, logistics, and progress
- Support apprentice recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and events
- Participate in weekly team meetings, organization events, and staff development
What are my “must haves”?
- 2–3 years’ experience working with youth or former TGG Apprentice with relevant experience
- Experience with lesson planning, classroom facilitation, and project-based learning
