Title: Riverwest Early Education Center Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Earnings: $54 to $58K depending on experience and education

Join our team and lead a dedicated early education center staff  who help COA fulfill our mission every single day.

The Riverwest EEC is a five-star early education center accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), providing quality programs, including Head Start and Early Head Start, for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. The Center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall supervision and quality of service delivery, financial oversight, and professional development of staff.
  • Maintains State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing, Early Head Start/Head Start (EHS/HS), and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation compliance.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registry Level 12
  • Philosophical compatibility with COA mission and strength based child development
  • At least three years’ supervisory/management experience
  • At least one year experience as an early education center teacher
  • Knowledge of early childhood development, DCF, EHS/HS and NAEYC
  • High proficiency in office software, especially Excel, and EEC databases
  • Strong budget creation and management skills
  • Leadership style that focuses on communication, coaching, and support but is able and willing to discipline appropriately as needed.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to develop strong, appropriate working relationships
  • Cultural competency and respect for all types of diversity
  • The physical requirements are the ability
    • to sit and stand for long periods of time
    • to push, pull and carry using arms and legs
    • to lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
    • to move quickly in order to safely evacuate children within certain time limits
  • COVID vaccination, fingerprints, and drug test required upon hire.
