GENERAL SUMMARY
The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society is a professional society of clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals who are interested in Parkinson’s disease, related neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders, hyperkinetic Movement Disorders and abnormalities in muscle tone and motor control.
Reporting to the Director of Meetings, the Meetings Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and coordination of virtual platforms and other online/digital initiatives as it relates to the MDS Congresses.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as part of the meetings team managing the development and implementation of the MDS International Congress virtual platform and other online initiatives related to Regional Congresses (AOPMC/PAS CONGRESS)
- In collaboration with abstract vendor, manage the abstract submission process and e-poster portals for the MDS Congresses.
- With oversight of the MDS Director of Meetings, manage RFP process and negotiation of contracts for virtual platform and abstract providers
- Collaborate with other members of the Meetings team and other MDS departments to clearly communicate MDS objectives for these virtual initiatives
- Collaborate with MDS Communications team to execute mobile applications and to implement branding and graphics for all platforms and applications.
- Other duties as assigned
AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approximately 1-2 weeks per year; some evening and weekend work may be required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2-3 years of event management experience, virtual meeting experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills; computer proficiency required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Unrestricted mobility: must be able to walk great distances, move quickly from place to place, and lift and move 50-pound boxes.
*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and dedicated weekly days in the office are a requirement of the role.
