CLIENT ASSOCIATIONS: American College of Mohs Surgery, ACMS

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt (Minimum 37.5 hrs/wk)

The American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) is a membership organization comprised of 1,800 rigorously trained skin cancer and reconstructive surgeons specializing in Mohs surgery, the most effective treatment for skin cancer today. The ACMS serves as the voice of the specialty, promoting and advancing the highest standards of patient care through fellowship training, research, education, and public advocacy.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Manage all aspects of the logistics of the annual meeting. This is accomplished by working with other staff members for food and beverage, A/V, room set and other needs. Manage all aspects of annual meeting sponsorship and the exhibit hall with approximately 50 exhibitors including exhibit sales and coordination with the decorator. Consult with assigned committees to provide guidance and support.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: (Minimum 37.5 hrs/wk)

  • Manage activities and contracts related to industry relations:
    • Exhibit booth sales and exhibit hall management
    • Sponsorship sales
    • Advertising sales
    • Recruit and maintain industry partnerships
  • Manage activities related to the client’s logistics of meetings:
    • Budgets and contracts
    • Schedule of program and activities
    • Audio/visual and virtual platform
    • Venue, catering, room sets, and decorating
    • Staffing and staff schedules
    • Room block and VIP housing / transportation
    • Overall evaluations
    • Hotel reconciliation
  • Meetings management and planning
    • Perform on-site management
    • Assist with meetings communications
    • Participate and lead committees as assigned
    • Manage the Request for Proposal process for all meeting site selections, including site visits
    • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director

AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approximately 3-4 weeks per year; minimal evening / weekend work as needed to meet deadlines and as required by the Executive Director.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an office environment, some association or sales background preferred. Excellent writing and organizational skills, good oral communication skills. Ability to work independently but as part of a small, strong team. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to move freely around meeting venues, some packaging and lifting up to 40 pounds.

*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office are a requirement of the role.
