Position Overview

The Client Relations Specialist helps to oversee, as part of a team, the daily operations of Father Gene’s Help Center, primarily helping to provide a high-quality shopping experience for clients.

The Client Relations Specialist is strongly committed to hospitality and maintains a professional attitude with sincerity and enthusiasm, reflecting the commitment of Father Gene’s Help Center to our clients.

Compensation: This will be a part time (20 hours per week), non-exempt position, paid an hourly wage of $17. Other benefits include eight paid holidays and 60 hours of PTO per year earned on an accrual basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build healthy relationships with client shoppers to minimize and de-escalate crises
  • Effectively and compassionately mediate all conflicts that arise and problem solve to avoid future crises
  • Implement strategies to improve overall client experience and satisfaction levels
  • Maintain the safety, security, and control of the building during client shopping hours
  • Assist with the client check in process, shopping orientation, and client check out process
  • Maintain general care of the facility

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Ability to de-escalate crisis situations
  • Sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic and disability issues
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of FGHC clients
  • Ability to work effectively with the public and diverse, vulnerable populations in a respectful and dignified manner
  • Preferred experience includes trauma informed care, conflict & crisis management, and de-escalation
  • Commitment to serving those in need, nonprofit experience a plus
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, verbal Spanish proficiency a plus
  • Basic computer skills needed
  • Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, listening, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least four consecutive hours, in addition to other repetitive motions. May involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing step ladders and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • 1-2 years of customer service, hospitality, or security
  • High school diploma or equivalent
