CAREER PLANNER
Forward Careers, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented and results driven individual with prior case management, job placement, and recruiting experience to join our team as a Career Planner to deliver the NEXT program. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.

ABOUT N.E.X.T.
Forward Careers has been awarded a $2.4 million Nursing Expansion Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to support training programs and to diversify the pipeline of nursing professionals while advancing equity and creating pathways for workers to fill these jobs and improve the nation’s healthcare system. The award is 1 of 25 grants that were issued nationally.
The NEXT (Nursing. Equity. eXpansion. Training.) program will tackle the need for more nurses and other healthcare related occupations through a multi-facet approach based on new innovative strategies and training activities that have proven to be successful. Through a mix of occupational skills training, on-the-job training, work experiences, and incumbent worker training, Forward Careers will help support 165 individuals through training and advance them into middle to high-skilled healthcare positions over the course of the grant period.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL ENTAIL
- Deliver group presentations, conduct outreach, and network for program awareness to marginalized and underrepresented population, including community-based organizations;
- Determine client eligibility based on grant requirements;
- Determine client’s strengths, screen for barriers, build relationships with clients, determine job readiness, administer and interpret assessment tools to assist client develop their individual employment plans;
- Manage an average case load of 40 to 50 eligible clients, at a given time, according to grant regulations to receive work readiness, training services, occupational skills training, and determining types of supportive services to maximize success;
- Provide on-going case management including resume preparation, interviewing skills, networking, and the job search process;
- Maintain accurate case files, develop case notes, ensure data is accurately entered into the appropriate tracking systems, and work closely with related departments and agencies to ensure a seamless process for helping clients;
- Ensure confidentiality of all files and records, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, guidance, policies, and procedures;
- Develop and maintain close connections with community-based organizations and resources to provide wrap around services to clients;
- Provide follow-up services to clients;
- Support the organization to meet performance outcomes;
- Attend community outreach events as required; and
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Forward Careers seeks an individual with:
- A bachelor’s degree in social welfare, psychology, or related field.
- Ability to work with underrepresented and diverse populations.
- Prior case management, job placement, and recruiting experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

HOURS & SCHEDULE
40 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, occasional morning and evening work may be required as job duties demand, but rare.
OUR LOCATIONS
Forward Careers’ offices are located at the American Job Centers in Waukesha and West Bend, and at the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center in Grafton. The primary location for this position will be at our Waukesha office, with regular travel per job responsibilities.
WAGE RANGE
$18.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
