ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to work in our Gift Processing department to assist in the sorting, processing, and receipting of all monetary and in-kind donations. This position is also responsible for communicating related information to relevant donors and assisting in data entry and manual tasks related to communications.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 1st Shift
LOCATION: Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sorting incoming mail
- Opening, processing, and moving packages and in-kind donations received through mail
- Manually opening and batching monetary donations for processing
- Processing, verifying, and recording donations through Aquirit and donor database
- Importing and exporting reports and receipts through donor database
- Assist with database clean-up projects
- Filing, shredding, and moving files as directed by management
- Managing and organizing storage rooms, stationary, literature and office supplies
- Answer and transferring incoming phone calls
- Submitting maintenance requests and purchase orders as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required
- Previous experience in an administrative role required
- Previous bank and database experience preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with competence and accuracy in grammar and spelling
- Detail orientated with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Flexible, team player
- Must be able to handle physical workload – ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 55lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart), and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dolly
- A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
- Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
- Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
