Joy House – Milwaukee Rescue Mission Division for Women & Children: The women and children who come to us for emergency or long-term support rely on the safety, love and warmth of Joy House and its many services. We nourish and nurture them through training, education and spiritual guidance so they can make better lives for themselves and for their kids.

Joy House is seeking a Christian woman to fill a full-time Office Manager position. The Office Manager supervises all positions and functions that ensure efficient operation of Joy House’s centralized coordination, communication, and facilities hub. This position also provides administrative support to the Director by performing tasks to help the flow and function of Joy House run smoothly and efficiently. This includes management of guest care, hospitality, positive interactions among staff and guests, statistics and quality assurance of documentation and information input and output.

HIRING RANGE:  $49,800-$52,600 yearly, based on candidate qualifications and experience

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 1st Shift

LOCATION: Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233


  • Develop, direct and manage the Joy House Office Assistants and Facilities Coordinator
  • Responsible for developing schedules and the administration of time and attendance for direct reports
  • Handle the department financial aspects, such as purchase orders, ordering bus tickets, donation deposits, petty cash and gift card requests
  • Compile and analyze monthly and annual Joy House statistics
  • Gather and compile survey data
  • Conduct all necessary department research, including but not limited to, items to purchase and staff training topics
  • Schedule and help facilitate monthly staff training
  • Schedule and assist with the coordination of events and connect volunteers with the appropriate staff members
  • Provide quality assurance for operating systems and personnel by double checking statistics and data with information placed in the database
  • Help coordinate guest interviews and photography for marketing publications
  • Prepare correspondence and cards for donors and volunteers
  • Cover office phones and assist with other tasks as needed
  • Assist with attending events and speaking engagements as a Joy House representative


  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in applicable field (business, social work, theology, education)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role required
  • Previous administrative, data management, analysis and statistical reporting required
  • Mature Christian with a servant’s heart with the ability and willingness to share the gospel
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written & verbal), motivational and decision making skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database software
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Detail orientated with high degree of accuracy
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse families, to use discretion and to stay calm and tactful under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions, to be flexible, and a team player
  • A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
  • Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
