Position Overview

Plans, coordinates, and oversees program to support activities of Next Door’s workforce pathway. Responsible for maintaining budget and records pertaining to the program expenditures, implementing policies and procedures, and organizing the activities and agenda for the program.


  • Lead planning, development and coordination of program and associated activities, collaborating with Next Door departments as needed.
  • Collaborate with other staff in the Professional Development Department to ensure pathways are coordinated and effective.
  • Develop and monitor implementation of policies and practices associated with program.
  • Coordinate program communications.
  • Develop relationships with essential partners to ensure program success.
  • Oversee the program budget, including tracking billing, payments and other financial transactions.
  • Coordinate interactions/relationships between program stakeholders.
  • Schedule and organize program-related meetings and events.
  • Ensure students have appropriate technology for success.
  • Oversee the use of technology for program operations.
  • Create and maintain program records, reports, presentations and proposals.
  • Work with Next Door’s marketing department to publicize the program.
  • Develop and implement an application process for interested students.
  • Support students in enrolling in selected college.
  • Assist students in troubleshooting issues with selected college.
  • Ensure students have access to academic and personal support services.
  • Assist students in addressing barriers to active participation in their degree program.
  • Plan and implement academic support sessions for students.

Accountability and Performance Requirement

  • Experience working with young adults.
  • Experience with the technical college system strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education and training requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • The incumbent must have access to a personal vehicle to use on a daily basis, maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance with liability limits of $300,000 (bodily injury) and $25,000 (property damage for each occurrence).

 Special Position Requirements

  • The successful candidate for this position will be ultra detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • All employees at Next Door must be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Physical Demands         

  • Primarily active work; occasionally lifting up, holding or moving up to 50 lbs.

Physical Activity            

  • Bending, stooping, kneeling, sitting on the floor, walking/transporting, handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, crouching, crawling, talking and speaking clearly, hearing conversation level, tasting, smelling and seeing; ability to interact daily with children outdoors in varied weather condition.

Work Environment

  • Mainly office setting with travel to various sites for meetings.
