We are seeking an experienced full-time Maintenance Technician. This position performs repair and general maintenance of our facilities and grounds, as well as some light custodial duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintenance Tasks: Performing minor repairs, such as fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs and ballasts, repairing broken furniture and maintaining heating and cooling systems.
- Grounds-keeping: Maintain outdoor areas such as sidewalks, parking lot and playgrounds by sweeping and removing debris. Manage the landscaping needs of the campus.
- Event Setup and Cleanup: Setting up and taking down equipment and furniture for parish and school events and meetings.
- Compliance with Regulations: Adhering and documenting compliance to health and safety regulations as well as parish and school policies and procedures.
- Record-keeping: Maintain logs of cleaning activities, repairs and maintenance tasks performed as well as reporting any issues or concerns.
- Vendor and Contractors: Establish good working relationships with outside contractors and vendors to ensure smooth operations of facilities, necessary and timely repairs and effective project management. To include identifying repairs and projects and obtaining quotes.
- Custodial: Provide custodial services for the church and parish office
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Position requires a high school diploma or a GED and three to five years of experience in a maintenance position.
- Effective oral and written communications skills are essential. Must be proficient with small hand and power tools. Incumbent must be able to prioritize tasks as necessary and complete many tasks with differing deadlines. Must be able to work independently. Incumbent should be able to work effectively with diverse population. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, bend or reach above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
