SUPERVISOR: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
OBJECTIVE: Under the supervision of the Walker’s Point Executive Director, the Director of Development supports all aspects of meeting Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center’s annual fundraising and marketing goals with special emphasis on helping to manage agency fundraising and donor cultivation events/campaigns.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Have primary responsibility for all development efforts and activities including identifying and building relationships with new and prospective donors, engagement in direct solicitations and follow-up. Prioritize donor solicitation, cultivation and stewardship. This includes strategic proposal development, in-person meetings, and donor presentations.
- Nurture relationships with current and potential donors, including individuals, foundations and corporate givers; design and implement a strategic stewardship plan, including donor cultivation, recognition and special events. Must prioritize building external relationships and manage an active donor portfolio.
- Support and partner with the Executive Director to lead all major fundraising initiatives including but not limited to; creating a multi-year, strategic fund development plan to include major gifts, annual campaigns, special events, and grant writing to raise a previously agreed upon amount annually based on the agency needs. Will provide management of the grant writing process, explore new funding opportunities, timelines, and deadlines in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Support Executive Director by providing direction & guidance, strategy development and feedback.
- Work with the board of directors to tackle action items as developed in our strategic planning process–specifically those related to fund development.
- Recognize strengths, acknowledge success and assist with areas of growth and development.
- Design and help produce major publications and marketing materials including but not limited to: annual report, brochures, client stories, flyers, press kits and special event materials.
- Help manage Walker’s Point website and email communication, with an emphasis on strengthening relations with partners and donors.
- Help to market events, including submitting on-line donation requests and community and events calendars and disseminate press releases about Walker’s Point events and programs.
- Lead fundraising event planning, logistics, setup and complete post-event follow up.
- Maintain agency photo files and maintain hard copy as well as electronic development files.
- Ensure accuracy of Walker’s Point’s donor and grant databases and files, including but not limited to: recording donations, generating and sending donor acknowledgements, supporting multiple donor appreciation efforts, generating donor reports in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum two – four years of experience in fundraising, event planning, public relations, or corporate communication, with graphic design and social media management experience a plus. Experience using Wix, Constant Contact, Canva, Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office Suite, CharityProud or related software preferred. Grant writing experience is preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION: $65,000-75,000, commiserate with experience
