Responsible for conducting and documenting CACFP monitoring reviews of family childcare homes in accordance with DPI regulations and guidance. Ensures compliance with all CACFP performance standards through scheduled and follow-up reviews, corrective action, and technical assistance. Provides nutrition education to providers, supports claims review activities, and collaborates with the CACFP Manager and Claims Specialist to resolve claim errors and compliance issues. Enrolls new providers and ensures all required documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within required DPI timeframes. Submits all agency-required documentation accurately and by established deadlines. This position requires onsite monitoring and is not eligible for remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a minimum of three (3) CACFP monitoring reviews per fiscal year, ensuring no more than six (6) months between Home Visit Reviews (HVRs), in accordance with DPI requirements.
- Review and document all required CACFP monitoring elements using DPI-approved review tools and standard CACFP monitoring forms.
- Identify noncompliance findings and implement corrective action plans, including follow-up reviews, technical assistance, on-hold status, probation, or serious deficiency determinations, as applicable.
- Verify provider eligibility, licensing/certification status, meal service compliance, and recordkeeping during monitoring reviews.
- Enroll new CACFP providers and ensure enrollment documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within DPI-required timelines.
- Assist with monthly claim reviews, error resolution, enrollment packet preparation, and provider follow-up.
- Support provider outreach and recruitment efforts consistent with agency and CACFP guidelines.
- Participate in required DPI and agency training and meetings and maintain ongoing communication with the CACFP Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CACFP Manager, or the Executive Director.
Vehicle Requirements:
- Reliable vehicle for transportation to and from office and assigned client sites or meetings/events is required.
- A valid Wisconsin motor vehicle operator’s license
- If employee drives for company business, proof of car insurance is required.
Education and Experience
- Must be proficient in using software such as WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK.
- Must demonstrate high level of customer commitment.
- Must be able to multitask and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is helpful but not required.
