Building Connection & Capacity: Envisioning What’s Next Together
This interactive workshop aims to create a shared vision on how nonprofits and consultants can work to build their capacity in their respective sectors. Join us for this special opportunity to work collaboratively on practical ways to strengthen your organization’s capacity and continue to build a shared vision of what a resilient, connected nonprofit sector looks like in Greater Milwaukee.

Inspired by the conversations that began at the May 2025 Learning and Networking Event, “Where Hope Gathers: Navigating change together,” this workshop will reflect on the key issues and ideas identified by nonprofit leaders and consultants related to strengthening the nonprofit sector. These reflections will serve as the starting point for in-depth discussion and visioning activities led by facilitators Angie Asa-Lovstad and Jill List, and hosted by Nonprofit Lift and the Nonprofit Management Fund.
This workshop includes two sector-specific convenings: the morning session geared to nonprofit leaders (executive staff and board directors) and the afternoon session geared to nonprofit consultants who serve the Greater Milwaukee community. (Consultants, join us at an informal meet-up the night before: Wednesday, November 5, at Station 1846 from 4:30-6:30 pm. Register here).
Each 3-hour session will surface challenges, identify capacity-building needs, and capture insights from within each group. A joint networking lunch will bring the two groups together for informal conversations.
These foundational conversations will not only provide immediate insights, but also lay
the groundwork for long-term capacity building strategies that:
- Enhance leadership development through peer connection, shared learning, and reflection of current challenges and strengths.
- Identify early priorities that can align efforts across the sector and inform future convenings.
- Create space for relationship building and trust, increasing readiness for collaboration.
Register by Friday, October 31.
