REPORTS TO: Executive Director

DIRECT REPORTS: Development Manager, Program Manager (2)

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt (Minimum 37.5 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY

Working with a team of staff and volunteers, provide oversight to the implementation of fundraising strategy for the AAAAI Foundation. The Foundation provides support for the AAAAI’s programs related to allergy/immunology research and training of future allergist/immunologists, which are managed by the Research & Training Division of the AAAAI Board of Directors.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum of 37.5 hours per week)

  • Serve as liaison to the Research & Training Division of the AAAAI Board of Directors and the AAAAI Foundation, assisting in the identification of and directing staff functions to ensure achievement of Division and Foundation goals and objectives, evaluate program outcomes and providing direct administrative support with regard to meetings, conference calls, minutes, and reports to the Board.
  • Develop, oversee and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan with AAAAI Foundation volunteer leadership and staff. This includes special events, identification of donors and maintain excellent donor stewardship processes
  • Prepare annual proposed budgets as required, project and sponsorship proposals and retain budgetary responsibility for their implementation and completion.
  • Provide direction and leadership of directly supervised team members, including performance evaluations of with rewards and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • As a member of the AAAAI staff leadership team, oversee AAAAI Foundation and Research & Training Division ongoing AAAAI programs and meetings. Participate in all AAAAI Executive Committee conference calls, attend all meetings of the AAAAI Board of Directors and facilitate reports for these meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED

Approximately 3-4 weeks per year, occasional evening and weekend work required. Attendance at the Annual Meeting is required for this position.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in association/foundation governance.
  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices, proven success in donor stewardship, retention and donor data analysis.
  • Experience with corporate funding and grant writing.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills, management skills, public speaking and presentation skills, organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and knowledge of donor database structures a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal lifting required.

*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
