State Organizer

Save Democracy in America (SDIA) is hiring a Wisconsin State Organizer to develop an effective, grassroots community engagement campaign around Voter Dollars to give all Americans a real say in who represents us. Voter Dollars does more than fix campaign finance. It renews the Republic’s founding promise. It fulfills, more strongly than ever, the ideal of a self-governing people, equal in voice, free to choose our leaders and chart our future without interference from special interests.

State Organizers are required to live in one of the states for their region of responsibility. SDIA is currently recruiting 1 organizer in each of the following states: Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Job Duties:

• Develop and execute state-specific tactical plans for citizen engagement.
• Identify, build, and maintain relationships with local partners, grassroots organizations, and community leaders.
• Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers around the movement for Voter Dollars.
• Implement digital and in-person organizing tactics, including in-person networking, canvassing and contributing to SDIA’s social media presence
• Track data on outreach efforts and adjust tactics accordingly.
• Represent the organization at local events, coalitions, and public forums.
• Contribute to SDIA’s communications plan, including both print and digital assets

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of grassroots organizing, campaign, or advocacy experience.
• Experience mobilizing volunteers and working within diverse communities.
• Knowledge of state-specific political and civic landscape, especially within non-urban, religious, and working class communities.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and diplomacy skills.
• Possess a positive, collaborative and flexible attitude. 
• Ability to work independently and demonstrable ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.
• Passion for SDIA and its mission
• Must have the ability to travel 10%-20% of the time throughout the state.

Compensation: Organizer will be employed as an independent contractor with monthly contract between $5,400 – $6,250 ($65-75k/annually; negotiable based on experience).
