POSITION OVERVIEW
St. Matthew School has an opening for a part-time Kitchen Manager starting in the 2025-2026 school year. The position pays a competitive hourly wage and the primary role of the Kitchen Manager will be to
- Assist in food preparation, presentation, service, and clean-up
- Plan/direct the preparation and serving of all food in the cafeteria
- Review daily menus; secure ingredients and supplies to prepare all menu offerings
- Ensure accurate recipe execution; scratch cooking (optional), portion control, temperature, appearance
- Incorporate time-saving production techniques and effective merchandising
- Instruct/teach new employees assigned tasks; ensure compliance with applicable guidelines
- Prepare and maintain inventory/records as required by local and state authorities
- Follow/implement sanitation and safety standards for food handling/preparation procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Current applicable certificate(s) issued by the State of Wisconsin or willingness to attain
- Code of Ethical Conduct adherence and satisfactory background check
- Completion of Safe Environment training prior to employment
- Positive and professional communication skills
- Reliability; punctual, regular attendance
Preferred but not required
- Practicing Catholic
- Previous food service experience
