The Waukesha Education Foundation Inc. (WEF) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides grants to teachers and staff members in the School District of Waukesha to fund innovative projects, programs, and initiatives not covered under traditional budgets. These grants enhance the learning experience for students by extending the curriculum and introducing new tools, technology or resources. Some examples of past grants we have awarded include drones for students to learn programming, 3D printers, indoor hydroponic gardens and hands-on STEM activities. We also award scholarships to high school seniors to help fund their post-secondary plans. In total, since 2002, WEF has awarded over $850,000 in classroom grants and scholarships.

Board Member Opportunity

  • As a working board, we ask our board members to provide leadership, oversight and hands-on support, and take an active role in driving our mission forward. We expect our board members to be positive ambassadors and supporters for WEF and our mission, goals, programs and events.
  • Key responsibilities (including but not limited to): attending monthly meetings and WEF events, promoting our programs and events, supporting fundraising activities (sponsorship outreach, donor cultivation, lead identification), supporting volunteer recruitment, and amplifying our presence, visibility and reach in the community.
  • We currently have an opening for a new board member to join our organization starting in 2026.

Committee Member Opportunity

  • Joining a committee is a great way to learn more about our organization, contribute in a meaningful way, and make a difference behind the scenes.
  • We currently have openings on our Marketing & Business Outreach committee as well as our Golf Outing and Evening for Education planning committees. If you have experience in marketing, social media, graphic design, public relations, event planning, sponsorship outreach, and/or fundraising, one of these committees may be a great fit for you!

Overall, we’re seeking individuals who support education, have an interest in impacting local students and teachers, want to gain leadership experience, and want to apply their skills towards a meaningful cause. Joining our organization would also be a great professional development experience for young professionals. Both our board member and committee member positions are volunteer roles.

Please send an email to president@waukeshaeducationfoundation.org to express your interest in exploring a Board Member or Committee Member position.
