About SOA:

Serving Older Adults of Southeast Wisconsin (SOA) is a mission-driven organization committed to enhancing the lives of older adults through educational, social, and recreational programs. SOA manages five Senior Centers in Milwaukee County, providing daily services and activities, including lunch five days a week. In 2021, SOA launched Tech Connect for Older Adults to help older adults better engage with technology. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated Program Manager to lead this innovative program and help expand its impact.

Position Summary:

The Manager for Tech Connect provides leadership, and oversight for SOA’s technology education and access program for older adults. Reporting directly to the Chief Programming Officer, this role is responsible for the implementation, evaluation, and growth of Tech Connect across SOA’s Senior Centers and the broader community. The Manager oversees the staff and instructors, builds partnerships, ensures program compliance with grant requirements, and strengthens SOA’s mission to help older adults remain independent and connected through technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Development

  • Under the direction of the Chief Programming Officer, provides direction and oversight for all aspects of Tech Connect program design and delivery.
  • Supervises technology instructors, contractors, and volunteers to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with organizations, businesses, and technology providers to expand program resources.

Instructional Quality & Participant Engagement

  • Ensure programs foster an inviting, social, and supportive environment for older adults learning technology
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Senior Planet curriculum providers and other external partners.
  • Provide guidance to staff and instructors on effective teaching strategies, program evaluation, and participant engagement.

Compliance, Reporting & Evaluation

  • Monitor and track program outcomes; oversee pre- and post-surveys and other evaluation tools.
  • Maintain accurate data and documentation for funder and grant reporting.
  • Review grant agreements, track required outcomes and provide timely and complete reports to SOA’s development team.
  • Maintain technology inventory and ensure equipment is available, safe, and functional.

Fundraising & Communications Support

  • In collaboration with Development Team and CPO, provide impact stories, participant data, and program outcomes to support grant applications and donor engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Development team on marketing, outreach, and donor cultivation opportunities tied to Tech Connect.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Experience may be used in lieu of education.
  • Experience in program management, adult learning, technology education, or related field.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Current knowledge of smartphones, tablets, computers, social media, and commonly used applications.
  • Experience working with older adults and the ability to create a patient, supportive learning environment.
  • Evaluation, reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community partners.
  • CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or ability to obtain within 180 days).
  • Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance or access to reliable transportation.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, talk, and listen for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  • Regular use of computers, smart phone, and other technology
  • Ability to travel between SOA Senior Center Operation Locations.

Certifications:

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is moderately quiet, with some travel required. Employees may occasionally need to lift or move equipment up to 20 pounds.
