Menomonee Valley Partners (MVP) seeks a full-time Marketing and Events Specialist to support our mission to revitalize and support a thriving Menomonee River Valley in the heart of Milwaukee.

As a nonprofit, public-private partnership, MVP works with a diverse group of business, community, and government stakeholders to strengthen Milwaukee’s Menomonee River Valley – a nationally recognized model of sustainable development, with strong companies and jobs, parks and trails along the Menomonee River, and destinations that attract 10 million visitors annually. Our work focuses on economic development, environmental restoration, workforce engagement, and community building.

Position Overview
The Marketing and Events Specialist will play a key role on the MVP team. This position entails managing our marketing efforts; and implementing our communications and marketing strategy across our website, social media, and print; and developing, planning, and executing our special events and volunteer program to engage the community throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage campaigns from inception to completion
- Develop and manage communications and marketing campaigns across email, social media, print, and web
- Create compelling content for newsletters, social media posts, annual report, press releases, annual appeal, program and event materials
- Identify new opportunities to promote the MVP mission
- Work with the MVP team and partners to develop stories of impact and ensure cohesive messaging across programs and channels
- Track and analyze marketing performance to inform strategy and improve engagement
- Plan, coordinate, and execute outreach activities and events, including the annual Valley Week
- Develop engaging seasonal events to build community relationships
- Manage event logistics including timelines, budgets, and on‑site execution, with support from staff and volunteers
- Plan, coordinate, and manage volunteer programs, including Stew Crews, Earth Day, and other community engagement activities
- Represent MVP in meetings with partners and at community events, building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong writing and communication skills
- Experience in event planning and/or marketing (nonprofit experience a plus)
- Comfort with social media management tools and basic design platforms (e.g., Canva, Hootsuite, Constant Contact, MailChimp)
- Organized, results-focused, detail-oriented, and highly productive individual who excels in a self-directed setting
- Strong project management and organizational skills to effectively manage details, meet deadlines, and achieve project goals
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to pitch in where needed
- Creative problem‑solver who enjoys working in a flexible team environment
Work Environment and Compensation
This position is part of a dedicated and collaborative team and will work closely with staff, board of directors, and community partners. The successful candidate will play an integral role in work that drives impactful solutions for the Menomonee River Valley and the city of Milwaukee. Working closely with the internal team, as well as public, private, and nonprofit partners, you will have the opportunity to be a key part of the many facts that contribute to building a successful community.
Some hybrid work is possible. The position will require occasional evening and weekend work for special events and projects.
- The anticipated annual salary range for this position is in the mid $50k range, depending on experience.
- Employees are eligible for employer-sponsored health and dental insurance coverage and a retirement plan with a 3% employer match.
- MVP provides 15 days of vacation per year (increasing to 20 after three years tenure), 9 days of paid sick leave per year, and 11 paid holidays.
