Compensation: This position starts at $46,500 – $51,000

Position Summary
The Development Systems Manager ensures every supporter of the Urban Ecology Center is recognized, valued, and accurately represented in our systems. This position plays a crucial role in our mission by maintaining the integrity of constituent data and overseeing the timely processing and acknowledgment of all gifts—because every donation, large or small, deserves our gratitude and attention.
This position leads the creation of data processes, mailing lists, and financial reports. They provide vital support for departmental fundraising events and initiatives that connect our community to our work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the timely processing of incoming gifts and the generation of acknowledgment letters, ensuring all donor acknowledgments are sent within the 48-hour turnaround period.
- Enter and maintain accurate constituent data, including contact information, gift history, background details, and other relevant documentation, in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
- Utilize the donor database to create and disseminate financial and donor reports related to monthly revenue, fundraising campaigns, stewardship, and strategy.
- Build and manage database queries to support the needs of the development team across their individual workstreams.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure the integrity and management of the fund development web presence to facilitate contributions, information, and positive donor experiences.
- Refine, create, document, and execute organization policies and procedures related to constituent information and department functions.
- Work with the finance team to ensure alignment of financial records and related procedures.
- Support the Development team and donors at our annual gala, the Summer Solstice Soiree.
- Assist with prospect research projects.

Required Qualifications:
- You have a minimum of three years of experience working on a team or in a highly-collaborative role.
- You have a minimum of 3 years of experience managing non-profit development database systems or similar database management experience.
- You have experience working with customer relationship management software or similar; the Urban Ecology Center utilizes Altru, a Blackbaud product.
- You have experience utilizing excel and the Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, Forms, and other apps within the system.
- First Aid/CPR Certification is required; the UEC will support attainment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, with some additional training and certification recommended.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for prolonged periods.
- Typing on a computer keyboard.
- Lifting objects of 25 pounds or less.

What does a typical workday look like?
Condition & Location:
- Open office workspace with an active team atmosphere. Using shared workspaces at all three UEC locations.
Schedule:
- Standard business hours with occasional evening and weekend events

Team and Supervision
- You will be a member of the Development Team and will be managed by the Director of Donor Relations.
- Though all of our teams work together in some capacity, you will most frequently collaborate with the individual giving team and the members of the finance and marketing teams.
- All UEC team members should expect interaction with volunteers, members, and youth participants.
Organizational Support
- All team members of the Urban Ecology Center work a minimum of 1-2 weekend or evening events each year. Our events are a great way to engage with our communities and see our mission in action; examples include Urban Candlelight Hike, Autumn Celebration, and HKE MKE. Some roles may have increased responsibility for event leadership.
- All team members are asked to support our building hours by providing building coverage, which may include opening/closing the building, communicating with staff on-site, and welcoming visitors or guests. You may sign up for an ongoing shift or provide back-up support.
