Friendship Circle of Wisconsin is looking for a UMatter Mental Health Program Manager—a dedicated, outgoing professional ready to make a real impact and grow our mental health programming and community connections.

About the Role:

As the UMatter Mental Health Program Manager, you will lead and expand our mental health initiatives, providing suicide prevention education and engaging programs for youth and adults, and developing/strengthening our relationships with key community stakeholders. This role requires a mental health expert who is comfortable speaking in front of groups, building relationships, and committed to breaking the stigma around mental health and suicide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Outreach & Partnerships: Grow and build relationships with schools, community organizations, and mental health professionals to expand UMatter’s reach and impact.
  • Program Growth & Development: Innovate and enhance UMatter programs to keep them evidence-based, effective, inclusive, and at the forefront of youth and adult mental health advocacy.
  • Suicide Prevention Training: Facilitate safeTALK suicide prevention trainings to equip youth and adults with the skills to recognize and respond to persons in crisis. Certification to lead these trainings will be provided as part of employment.
  • Signature Event Leadership: Oversee and grow “One Thing I Wish You Knew,” our annual mental health event where teens share powerful personal stories and a regional resource fair.
  • Podcast Mentorship: Guide and mentor teen hosts of the “Wish You Knew” podcast, ensuring meaningful discussions that promote mental health awareness.
  • Support Groups: Lead formal/informal support groups for both teens and adults, fostering open and supportive discussions about mental health and resilience from a strengths-based perspective.
  • Teen Volunteer Coordinator: Oversee and expand our Teen Board and teen volunteers organization wide.

Who You Are:

  • mental health professional with a degree in social work, counseling, or a related field (master’s degree or equivalent experience required).
  • Personable, engaging, and comfortable speaking to large audiences (history facilitating community education is a plus).
  • Passionate about mental health and suicide prevention—you want to make a difference!
  • A strong leader with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in working with both teens and adults in a community setting (including long-term fieldwork/internships related to mental health).
  • Creative, driven, dignity-affirming, team-player who’s excited to change the world through education, support, and advocacy.

💰 Competitive Salary: $55,000 – $75,000 based on experience.
