Marketing & Fund Development Intern

Location: Waukesha, WI | Hybrid options available

Commitment: Flexible schedule | Ideal for students or those seeking nonprofit experience
Hours:
Flexible between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday

About Donna Lexa Art Centers (DLAC): Donna Lexa Art Centers provides inclusive and accessible art programming for people of all abilities, including individuals with disabilities, elders in memory care, caregivers, and veterans. We are seeking a Marketing & Fund Development Intern to support our fundraising and development efforts through research, writing, and systems organization.

This role is well suited for someone interested in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and the operational side of nonprofit management.

Responsibilities:

  • Research grants, foundations, and funding opportunities aligned with DLAC’s mission
  • Assist in drafting letters of inquiry (LOIs) and grant proposals
  • Support organization and entry of donor and grant information into a CRM system
  • Help track and compile fundraising and marketing research
  • Assist with development, communications, and administrative projects as needed
  • Collaborate with staff to align tasks with both organizational needs and your learning goals, including exposure to nonprofit management functions if of interest

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Interest in nonprofit work, marketing, fundraising, research, or nonprofit management
  • Strong writing and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and asking questions when needed
  • Detail-oriented with curiosity about how nonprofits are funded and operated
  • Experience with CRM systems or Google Workspace is helpful but not required

Additional Details:

  • Unpaid volunteer internship with flexible scheduling
  • Course credit can be supported if required
  • Internship experience can be shaped based on mutual goals, interests, and learning priorities
