Bader Philanthropies seeks a dynamic, relationship-centered Grants Director to lead its Alzheimer’s & Healthy Aging grants program. Through strategic grantmaking, collaboration, and community engagement, this position will help advance innovative solutions that improve the quality of life for older adults, individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and their caregivers.

Bader Philanthropies operates on the principle that philanthropic investments, combined with strong partnerships and technical support, can leverage meaningful and lasting change in communities. The Grants Director will play a key role in identifying opportunities, evaluating grant proposals, fostering partnerships, and supporting organizations working to strengthen aging and dementia-related services throughout Wisconsin and the Greater Milwaukee area.

Reporting to the Vice President-Grants, the Grants Director will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and cultivating innovative grant opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Evaluating grant proposals and developing funding recommendations.
  • Monitoring and supporting funded projects to maximize impact and learning.
  • Conducting site visits throughout Wisconsin to engage with grantees, assess program implementation, and strengthen relationships.
  • Convening grantees, community leaders, and partners around emerging issues and opportunities.
  • Providing thoughtful guidance, technical assistance, and strategic insight to nonprofit organizations and community stakeholders.
  • Representing the Foundation within the philanthropic, nonprofit, healthcare, and aging-services communities.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Five or more years of relevant experience in aging services, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, caregiving, healthcare, public health, philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships and collaborative initiatives across nonprofit, healthcare, government, and community sectors.
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting older adults in diverse urban and rural communities.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to analyze complex issues, synthesize information, and make sound recommendations.
  • A professional, collaborative, and relationship-oriented approach with strong initiative and sound judgment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin for site visits, meetings, and community engagement activities.
