Position Summary
The Recruitment Ambassador is a part-time, community-facing role responsible for representing Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee at events and outreach opportunities. This position focuses on engaging the public, sharing information about mentoring opportunities, and generating volunteer interest through tabling and in-person outreach. The schedule is flexible up to 20 hours per month and requires your presence at various community events, mainly weeknights and weekends, with heaviest season being May-October. Great as a side hustle!
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in customer service, events, outreach, or public-facing roles preferred

Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Event Support
- Represent Big Brothers Big Sisters at community events, fairs, corporate campuses, universities, and other outreach opportunities.
- Set up, manage, and break down outreach tables at events.
- Engage attendees in friendly, informative conversations about the mission and volunteer opportunities.
- Distribute marketing materials and promotional items.
- Collect contact information from interested individuals and ensure accurate lead capture.
- Provide a compelling and consistent overview of the organization and its impact.
Volunteer Engagement Support
- Share basic information about the volunteer process and next steps.
- Encourage event attendees to take action (e.g., sign up, request more information).
- Represent the agency in a positive, professional, and approachable manner.
Event Coordination
- Attend scheduled outreach and recruitment events as assigned.
- Maintain and transport outreach materials (tablecloths, signage, brochures, etc.).
- Provide feedback to supervisor on event attendance and general engagement outcomes.
Schedule & Additional Requirements
- Part-time, hourly position
- Primarily evenings and weekends based on event schedule.
- Flexible availability required.
Travel
- The employee must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the community we serve, a valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance as required by the state of Wisconsin.
Physical Demands
- Performing the essential responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills and must be able to lift, transport, and set-up materials approximately 20+ lbs. such as folding table, pop-up tent, banners, etc. with the aid of wheeled cart or wagon.
