Position Summary
The Assistant Café Manager supports the Café Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Friendship Café. This role helps ensure outstanding customer service, high-quality food and beverages, efficient operations, and a positive, inclusive work environment for employees with and without disabilities. The Assistant Café Manager serves as the manager on duty when the Café Manager is unavailable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operation of the café.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve guest concerns.
- Supervise, train, and support café staff and trainees.
- Help with scheduling and shift coverage.
- Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and food safety standards are met.
- Assist with inventory, catering, and cash handling.
- Open and close the café as needed.
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming workplace that reflects Friendship Circle’s mission.
- Ability to work on many Sunday’s
Qualifications
- Previous café, restaurant, or retail leadership experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Organized, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Passion for teamwork, hospitality, and serving an inclusive community.
Reports to: Café Manager
