JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF CRISIS SERVICES
SUPERVISOR: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
OBJECTIVE: Oversight of our emergency shelter for 11-17 year olds. Ensures compliance with all entities in regards to licensing, and grant management. Provides oversight for staff within the shelter programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and supervise professional staff in the Runaway and Teen Crisis Program. Provide individual and group supervision as appropriate; preside at weekly case review meetings; and oversee direct service staff scheduling. Produce annual employee evaluations for all supervised employees.
- Direct the recruitment, selection, orientation and training for the above staff positions; evaluate and promote a program for staff development and support to upgrade direct service skills and abilities; and negotiate staff difficulties around treatment/service approaches and techniques.
- Oversee direct service operations with youth and families; oversee intake of new clients into the program; ensure a range of services are provided based on program goals and objectives; provide 24-hour back-up and consultation to staff in cases of crisis; participate in shelter care activities, ensuring consistent, caring and supportive services to program clients; investigate and address client and other complaints that may arise in the delivery of services; and implement goals, values, philosophy of agency.
- Provide linkages to administrative staff and Executive Director; track service delivery and prepare semi-annual progress reports; prepare other needed reports in timely and accurate fashion; ensure development and implementation of needed service procedures and protocols; participate in the agency evaluation measures; represent service aspect of agency in program development and decision-making; and serve on planning and other agency committees as appropriate.
- Maintain strong and effective linkages with community social services, Continuum of Care program and its services to the community at large; participate in community education and outreach efforts of the Center as appropriate; participate in community planning to develop and improve mental health, prevention and direct service programs to youth and families.
- Develop and implement new program components to meet changing consumer needs, in consultation with the Executive Director.
- Supervise and assist as needed in the coordination of the AmeriCorps, volunteer and back-up staff components to ensure a pool of well-trained, effective and caring individuals.
- Direct the effective and efficient use of center facilities, equipment, materials. Maintain adequate property control and facility security. Ensure compliance with city ordinance and state licensing standards.
- Such other duties are required from time to time as requested by the Executive Director to meet agency goals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field is preferred; bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred, strong communication skills (oral and written), and working knowledge of computer software; access to car, valid Wisconsin drivers license and proof (and maintenance) of auto insurance; ability to climb stairs and some lifting.
COMPENSATION: $65,000-75,000 commiserate with experience
