“Managing projects in a nonprofit often means leading work you’ve never done before. Whether you’re coordinating a fundraising campaign, launching a new program, implementing software, planning an event, or managing a strategic initiative, project success depends on more than timelines and task lists. It begins with creating clarity.
In this interactive workshop, participants will learn practical strategies to move from uncertainty to action by defining project scope, identifying priorities, asking better questions, and organizing work into manageable steps. Through project management frameworks, reflection activities, and practical tools, participants will learn how to clarify goals, identify deliverables, map rough workflows, and determine what information is needed before building a project plan.
The workshop also explores the different roles people have in projects, from senior leaders to managers and project coordinators, and how responsibilities, decision-making, and communication differ across each role. Participants will practice distinguishing between projects, programs, and tasks, developing realistic deliverables, and navigating ambiguity without feeling stuck.
Whether you’re leading a project for the first time or managing multiple initiatives, you’ll leave with practical tools to scope projects, create clarity before planning, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and confidently move projects from idea to implementation.”
