Trauma in Our Community Conference

Organized by the UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education:

Trauma in Our Community

Reimagining Solutions for Healing

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 17, 2025, to attend the UW-Milwaukee’s Trauma in Our Community Conference. The conference will take place in-person at UWM’s Downtown Conference Center or virtually from your home or office.

This year’s lineup of informative and innovative sessions will give you the tools you need to Reimagine Solutions for Healing.

What can you expect from this highly engaging and informative conference? Here’s a peek at what we have in store:

  • Keynote presentation by Sarah Eagle Heart, a Lakota activist, author and producer, who will weave together Lakota teachings to explore Indigenous holistic worldviews as powerful pathways to healing.
  • Breakout sessions led by a diverse group of experts in areas such as collaborative strategies, leveraging technology, multicultural approaches, restorative practices and more.
  • Innovative approaches to healing and community support that you can add to your toolkit and put to use immediately.
  • Closing panel on reimagining healing through peer support.
  • Continuing education hours toward your licensure: Earn 0.7 CEUs or 7.0 CEHs by attending.

It’s estimated that between 60 and 80 percent of people have experienced a potentially traumatic event. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore healing practices and enhance the support you provide. We look forward to having you with us!”
