Role Description
The Admissions Coordinator plays a critical role in connecting individuals in need with timely access to treatment. This position combines admissions coordination with active engagement and outreach. It goes beyond administrative intake and requires consistent initiative to support both immediate admissions and long-term admissions growth.
The role involves direct engagement with individuals struggling with substance use, their families, and referral contacts, as well as coordination of the admissions process from first contact through arrival.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage individuals and families seeking treatment and support timely admissions
- Respond quickly to inquiries and facilitate same-day or next-day admissions when appropriate
- Conduct proactive outreach to prospective clients, families, and referral sources
- Maintain consistent follow-up with individuals not yet ready to admit
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure appropriate placement
- Verify commercial insurance benefits and communicate coverage clearly
- Ensure admissions documentation is complete and accurate
- Participate in community and field-based engagement as needed
- Contribute to longer-term admissions and outreach planning
Performance Expectations

Qualifications
- Strong communication and engagement skills, particularly in high-stress situations
- Comfort working in a role that requires initiative, urgency, and accountability
- Experience in admissions, outreach, case management, community engagement, or related roles preferred
- Willingness to engage directly with individuals experiencing active substance use
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare environments preferred
- Experience with insurance verification is a plus; training will be provided
- Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with administrative systems and technology

Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $55,000 per year
