JOB TITLE: Coalition Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY
The Coalition Administrator of the WUNDR Program will support the design, implementation, and coordination of community-rooted strategies that support systemic resilience in Wisconsin. This role is for someone with the vision and skills to hold complexity, connecting data, relationships, and resources across systems to co-create more just and thriving futures. This position sits at the intersection of Democracy, narrative change, and systems strategy. The ideal candidate brings both technical expertise and deep community-rooted values and thrives in collaborative, emergent safety plans.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive community resilience programs, including setting goals, overseeing operations, tracking outcomes, and ensuring alignment with WUNDR’s mission and community needs.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND PARTNERSHIPS:
- Build and nurture relationships with diverse community partners, organizations, and stakeholders (including local government, businesses, and churches etc.) to understand needs, gather input, and foster collaboration for resilience initiatives.
- Actively engage with schools, faith-based organizations, and businesses regarding preparedness planning and resilience initiatives.
- Identify and engage institutions statewide that can lead efforts to advance resilience.
- Facilitate workshops, dialogues, and other participatory techniques to involve communities in shaping the vision and goals for WUNDR initiatives.
CAPACITY BUILDING AND TRAINING:
- Develop and deliver tools, resources, and training programs to enhance community members’ and partners’ skills, knowledge, and resources related to WUNDR.
- Implement education campaigns and workshops to inform and engage the community on relevant topics like emergency preparedness, environmental impacts, and political safety
VULNERABILITY AND RISK ASSESSMENT:
- Conduct assessments to identify threats and vulnerabilities within the community (including underrepresented and at-risk populations), and recommend mitigation and adaptation measures.
STRATEGIC PLANNING AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT:
- Contribute to and support the development of WUNDR strategies and action plans.
- Analyze and advocate for policies that strengthen WUNDR and sustainability.
- Review and provide recommendations to improve policies that ensure continuity of business, support, and response operations within the organization or community.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION:
- Oversee the implementation of WUNDR projects, ensuring efficient execution, coordination across multiple partners, and achievement of desired outcomes.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of resilience programs.
COMMUNICATION AND ADVOCACY:
- Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including stakeholders, the public, and internal teams, regarding WUNDR initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports to various levels of management and external bodies.
RESILIENCE COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPHASIS
The community service aspect of this role focuses on strengthening the ability of communities to withstand, recover from, and adapt to adversity by:
- Engaging and Empowering Local Communities: The Coalition Administrator works with communities, rather than simply for them, fostering ownership of resilience initiatives and recognizing local contributions.
- Addressing Vulnerabilities: Emphasis is placed on ensuring equitable access to resources and services, particularly for populations more at risk during disasters due to a lack of resources and education.
- Promoting Volunteerism: Actively engaging volunteers and encouraging individuals to connect with the community to support resilience efforts.
- Building Stronger Social Fabric: Fostering social bonds and social cohesion through collaborative projects and initiatives.
- Innovation and Adaptation: Supporting communities in developing innovative solutions and adapting to changing conditions through local volunteering and problem-solving.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education and Experience: Several years of experience in program management, community engagement, or resilience initiatives.
- Community Engagement and Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build relationships, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and foster collaboration.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in mapping tools, data analysis, emergency management software, and project management software may be required.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound decisions.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Experience in supervising staff, coordinating projects, managing budgets, and leading teams.
- Knowledge of Resilience Principles: Familiarity with concepts like emergency preparedness, disaster response, risk assessment, climate adaptation, and community resilience frameworks.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt to evolving circumstances.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a full-time salaried position with an annual salary of $55,000 -65,000.
- Work will be remote with some in-person meetings, at which point staff will be based in Wisconsin.
