Key Responsibilities:

ADMINISTRATIVE

Program Planning & Development: Collaborate with the Executive Director, other team members, and program committee to plan and schedule programs in alignment with Blossom IDD’s mission. Assist in the creation and adaptation of programming based on feedback and participant needs. Collaboratively develops calendar and establishes staffing requirements. 

Program Implementation: Using created and developed programs from Blossom IDD’s program committee, candidates will implement programs to meet the organization’s mission. Ultimate long term goal would be to have this position be part of collaborative program planning and development. 

Administrative Coordination: Manage scheduling, rosters, program logistics, materials purchasing, annual participant data collection  and participant monitoring, vendor communication, and digital tools (e.g., Canva, SignUpGenius, Google Suite, email outreach).

Volunteer Coordination: Assist in onboarding, supporting, and communicating with volunteers to ensure they feel engaged and supported.

Team Collaboration: Communicate regularly with the lead coordinator and Executive Director about programs and needs, and work with volunteers on-site. Attends the monthly program committee meeting.

Fundraising and Community Outreach: Plans and coordinates one or more fundraising events with support from the staff team. 

HANDS-ON

Program Facilitation: Attend scheduled events to assist with setting up, running activities, engaging participants. Complete an active role of organizing necessary equipment/supplies, setting up/cleaning up, implementing, and executing programs at various days and times. 

Social-Emotional Support: Utilizes appropriate redirection/enforces natural consequences in various programmatic environments to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants. Encourages appropriate responsibility and interactions by participants. 

Safety & Risk Management:Plans for and maintains safe and clean environments during events. Follows Blossom IDD’s event policies and procedures. Ensures safety of participants and volunteers at all times with proper supervision. 

Connection: Encourages connections and engagement with participants, community members and organizations, and local activities to share in Blossom IDD’s purpose and mission.

Communication & Documentation: Serve as the central point of contact for participants, caregivers, and volunteers. Document attendance, program feedback, and incident reports as directed and appropriate. Actively communicates with Blossom IDD’s participants, Executive Director, program committee, and volunteers on pertinent information pertaining to events and programs in a timely manner via email as well as phone when appropriate. 

Other: Other mutually agreed upon responsibilities based on the needs of the organization.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Required high school diploma or equivalent/certificate of completion when applicable.
  • Not a former or current participant of Blossom IDD. 

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to display a positive attitude while working.
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability and responsibility.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, or will communicate to either the Executive Director, Budget and Finance Director, or other appropriate team members specific hours needed based on scheduling barriers.
  • Proficient with or willing to learn necessary tech tools and scheduling platforms.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Demonstrates the following skills: dependable, patient, reliable, and motivated.

Preferred

  • Administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals within the IDD community.

Estimated Time Commitment: 80 hours/month–may vary depending on season and availability of staff member
