Position Overview
The Manager of Career Training and Curriculum will be responsible for the development, design, and delivery of inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed training curricula for program participants. This role focuses on building soft skills, professional readiness, and essential digital literacy to prepare clients for meaningful employment opportunities. The Manager will work collaboratively across departments to ensure that participants are holistically supported in their job readiness journeys.
Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development & Instruction
- Professional communication and workplace behavior
- Design and lead the creation of dynamic, culturally relevant workforce development curricula focused on:
- Interview preparation and resume support
- Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution
- Digital literacy (email, basic computer skills, online job applications)
- Workplace technologies (Google Workspace, Zoom, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Develop flexible training formats including in-person workshops, virtual sessions, and self-paced modules
- Incorporate trauma-informed, healing-centered practices into curriculum design and delivery
- Adapt training materials to meet the varying needs of learners with different educational backgrounds and lived experiences
Client Engagement & Support
- Facilitate engaging, interactive workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions to support participant skill-building and confidence
- Serve as a thought partner with Employment Success Coaches and other staff to ensure alignment between training and client goals
- Foster a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages growth, vulnerability, and self-advocacy
Partnership & Innovation
- Research and integrate best practices and new methodologies in workforce development and adult learning
- Build relationships with employers and workforce partners to ensure curriculum is aligned with real-world hiring expectations
- Collaborate with community-based organizations and training partners to expand participant learning opportunities
Staff Training & Capacity Building
- Lead “train-the-trainer” sessions to equip staff, coaches, and volunteers with tools to deliver and reinforce trainings
- Mentor team members and contribute to a learning culture that centers growth and equity
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in curriculum design, adult education, workforce development, or a related field
- Strong understanding of soft skills development and digital literacy as they relate to employability
- Experience facilitating workshops or trainings for diverse adult learners
- Commitment to racial equity, trauma-informed practice, and community-driven work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creativity, flexibility, and cultural humility in engaging with learners from underserved communities
Preferred:
- Experience working with reentry populations, youth transitioning to employment, or individuals impacted by systemic barriers
- Knowledge of career pathways in high-demand industries (e.g. healthcare, manufacturing, customer service, etc.)
- Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus
Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: $60,000–$65,000 annually (depending on experience) (benefits package included)
