Position Summary

Courage+ is seeking a Crisis and +YOU Program Manager to lead our youth-centered crisis response and +YOU programming. This role provides program development and oversight, staff supervision, and direct crisis support for LGBTQ+ youth, particularly those with lived experience in foster care, homelessness, or systems involvement.

Program Oversight & Development

  • Manage daily operations of the Crisis and +YOU programs, ensuring services are accessible, responsive, and youth-centered
  • Implement and continuously improve crisis response protocols aligned with trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and LGBTQ+-affirming best practices
  • Collaborate with leadership to evolve +YOU programming to meet emerging youth and community needs
  • Host support groups as needed
  • Ensure program fidelity while maintaining flexibility for individualized support plans
  • Manage program budgets and ensure adherence to approved spending
  • Schedule travel and maintain accurate travel records
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and host annual town hall trainings

Crisis Response & Intervention

  • Provide weekday crisis support for Courage+ houses
  • Serve as a lead responder or on-call support for youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, housing, or safety crises
  • Conduct crisis assessments, de-escalation, safety planning, and immediate stabilization interventions
  • Coordinate emergency services when necessary, prioritizing least-restrictive, youth-centered responses
  • Support staff during and after crisis incidents, including debriefing and secondary trauma care

Youth Support & Case Coordination

  • Oversee individualized crisis support plans for residents, integrating mental health, housing stability, life skills, and community connection
  • Provide direct support to high-need youth when needed, modeling best practices for staff
  • Advocate for youth across systems including schools, child welfare, courts, and healthcare
  • Increase Crisis Stabilizer presence in Courage+ houses to strengthen culture and climate

Staff Supervision & Training

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Crisis and +YOU program staff, interns, and volunteers
  • Review timesheets and ensure accurate payroll submission
  • Provide regular coaching, reflective supervision, and performance feedback with a focus on burnout prevention and skill development
  • Train staff across the organization in crisis de-escalation, suicide prevention, restorative practices, mandated reporting, documentation, and LGBTQ+-affirming care
  • Ensure staff adherence to Courage+ policies, safety plans, and ethical standards
  • Travel quarterly to remote +YOU sites to provide real-time coaching and feedback

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3–5 years of experience in crisis intervention, youth services, or behavioral health
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis de-escalation, and suicide prevention
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ youth and system-involved youth strongly preferred
  • Ability to respond effectively in high-stress situations

Compensation

  • $65,000-$75,000
  • $150 a month health stipend reimbursement
  • 16 PTO days a year and 7 paid holidays
