Reports to: Director of Housing
The C2 Supervisor is responsible for coordinating services for young adults, ages 18-24 living at C2 Apartments. C2 Apartments provides individual bedrooms in a shared living space for LGBTQ+ young adults who have aged out of foster care or experienced housing instability. The C2 Supervisor will manage applicants, screenings and intakes, and connect youth to govern services throughout their stay in order to more successfully transition them to independence.
The C2 Supervisor will work as part of the Resident Advocate team at C2 apartments to ensure compliance with program standards and uphold the mission and values of Courage MKE. We are seeking a C2 Supervisor with strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of county resources, and the ability to work independently. The C2 Supervisor must demonstrate acceptance for all people, and model a trauma informed approach to make a positive impact in the lives of the LGBTQ young adults that we support.
This position will begin as a part-time, hourly position, with the potential to transition to a full-time position depending on needs of the program.
Essential Functions:
Resident Case Management
- Track and screen applicants. Complete interview and intakes with residents.
- Meet with each resident of C2 apartments weekly to set goals, track progress, connect to services, and make outside referrals as needed.
- Communicate with Resident Advocates ways they can support the youth in obtaining their goals and gain feedback on how youth is doing in the space.
- Process any infractions with youth, keep them accountable to any conflict resolution work.
- Process discharges.
- Monitor the residents’ finances, mentor youth with setting budgets and gaining financial independence.
- Maintain documentation of resident files including Case Management summaries, write up tracking, tier progression, resident rosters, crisis plans, and ROIs.
- Connect with outside agencies in order to gain referrals and resources. May schedule training sessions or community activities for residents within C2.
- Maintain confidentiality within all written and verbal communications
- Build positive relationships with young adults to minimize crises, de-escalate crises when they occur, and notify the Director of Housing of all pertinent events.
- Collaborate with CCS or DCFS case managers and other team members to keep updated on residents goals and treatment planning. May attend monthly team meetings.
House Management:
- Obtain and track 24 hours of continuing education training and complete all other training and professional duties as assigned by the Director of Housing.
- Act as Manager on Duty during on-call schedule to respond to crises in the house as necessary. (one week per month).
- Attend one Leadership Team Meeting the last wednesday of every month.
- Observe, assess, and document resident activity per agency/program standards (shift logs, incident reports, crisis plans, etc.).
- Maintain physical property to agency standards. Report any maintenance issues that are beyond your ability, to the Director of Housing.
- Work with and provide feedback to the Director of Housing on the program’s performance in relation to the organization’s values and mission.
- Work with and communicate professionally with nonprofit stakeholders including donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree (in the fields of Social Work, Sociology, Special Education, Psychology, Counseling and Guidance or Criminal Justice) with two years of supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of community resources and ability to access those services is required. Must have a strong ability to work well with others, giving and receiving feedback in a professional manner. Must be at least 21 years of age. First Aid and CPR training preferred. Background check, Physical and TB test required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to sitting, walking, climbing stairs and standing for prolonged periods; frequently pushes, pulls, grasps, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working with persons served and handling office, medical, or household equipment. The employee is subject to assist and lifts up to 15 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a recurring basis. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within normal range and the ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must have the ability to perform CPR. Occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious substances, including communicable diseases when performing personal care. Occasional exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants. Residential work environment with a noise level of normal to loud. Compensation:
Hourly rate range: $22-$26. $150 a month reimbursement health stipend for full-time employees. PTO is accrued at the rate of 1.5 days/month or 16 days/ year.
