The English Department is highly collaborative, especially in the freshman and sophomore levels, where teachers are aligned in course pacing, sequence of units, common final exams, common topic options for writing assignments and common oral presentation rubrics. Across all courses/grade levels, grading practices are discussed to ensure department faculty members evaluate student writing within a similar framework, with similar expectations.
