Epilepsy Families Southeast WI, an independent nonprofit epilepsy charity founded in 1954. We are a 5013C organization. Our mission is to support and empower people affected by epilepsy by providing personal assistance and increasing public awareness.
Through our advocacy and education, we provide support to the over 60,000 Wisconsin residents who have been diagnosed with epilepsy; 10,000 of them are children.
JOB SUMMARY:
EVENT COORDINATOR
Epilepsy Families Southeast Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Event Coordinator. The part time Event Coordinator will manage our annual walk/run event activities include resource sourcing and volunteer team management.
WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time, weekdays, 1st shift. Variable hours Typically 15-20 hours per week, the hours may be higher in the months leading up to our major events (early May and June).
LOCATION: 735 North Water Street Milwaukee, WI. 53202
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, implement and follow-up on the walk/run logistics including all donation sourcing, website set up, and participant packet distribution.
- Coordinate event logistics including volunteers, publicity, advertising and collateral and tee-shirt design, production and distribution
- Maintain participants database
- Coordinate the race logistics with race timers, volunteers and parks management
- Maintain the event webpage and database
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in Marketing, event management or related fields.
- Familiarity and experience with social media, Canva, or CRM platforms is a requirement
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in events coordination or marketing preferred
- Evidence of successful events management, marketing and public relations is necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Strong time management skills with the capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail oriented with excellent organization and follow up skills
- A self-motivated, self-directed, enthusiastic and flexible team player
- Ability to work independently and to work as part as a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required
- Proficiency with Adobe Publisher or InDesign a plus
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record required
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
