JOB PURPOSE:

Assist with shipping and receiving, accurate fulfillment of online orders, inventory tracking and maintenance of a clean, well-organized warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fulfillment of online orders.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving by unloading trucks and checking in products.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution and inventory accuracy.
  • Move materials and items to and from receiving or storage areas as requested ensuring proper place location and scanning placement accuracy.
  • Identify problems with product quality and freshness suitability of products and utilize proper communication channels to make known and discard of.
  • Ensure product that is handled is scanned and captured in the system. Follow the scanning process set forth.
  • Ensure products are properly labeled, scanned and accurately placed.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Mark products with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Keep cooler and freezers safe, clean and organized. Ensure temperature reading is accurate and sustaining product to proper temperature.
  • Assist with inventory counts, and cycle counts.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed such as sweeping, dusting and mopping. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Observe warehouse safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Commitment to understand and support FAEW’s mission, vision, and effective actions to end food insecurity and its causes
  • Respect for the people FAEW serves and commitment to learn the causes of their food insecurity and need
  • High school diploma or equivalent related experience, preferred
  • Six months warehouse/distribution experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be open-minded of differing opinions and views.
  • Previous forklift experience desired, must be able to be certified within two weeks of hire.
  • Ability to consistently bend, twist, climb, reach above shoulders, kneel, squat, sit, stand and lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse and cold environment (-10 to + 10 degree).
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, bend, twist, climb, reach above shoulders, kneel, squat, sit, stand, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to lift, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee must have the ability to work in a cold environment -10 to +10 degrees Fahrenheit. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds while moving inventory. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
