Who and What is Habitat for Humanity?

VISION:

A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

MISSION:

Seeking to put God’s love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

PRINCIPALS

  1. Demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.

  2. Focus on shelter.

  3. Advocate for affordable housing.

  4. Promote dignity and hope.

  5. Support sustainable and transformational development.

Habitat for Humanity serving Green Lake, Marquette & Waushara Counties is a 501(c)3 Charitable NonProfit Organization dedicated to helping families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable housing.

Habitat is not a giveaway program. Partner families pay Habitat through a non-profit, no-interest loan, an investment of “sweat equity,” and participation in education related to budgeting and home maintenance.  The payments made by partner families are then reinvested into the program to serve more families in need of safe, decent, affordable housing.

HFHGLMW isn’t just constructing homes—you’re building legacies of equity, resilience, and care. 🛠️🌱 The zero-interest mortgage and income-based payments remove one of the biggest barriers to home ownership, and your emphasis on energy efficiency ensures families have healthy, sustainable spaces to grow in.

Length of the Term: The length of the appointment is 1 or 2 years, allowing for a rotation system to ensure a healthy exchange of new ideas.

Commit a financial contribution from personal resources each year according to his/her means with a goal of 100% participation.

Actively develop resources for Habitat for Humanity serving Green Lake, Marquette, and Waushara Counties from current or prospective funders by direct contact with orchestration staff; each board member will set their own goal for $ and/or in-kind contributions.

Please email crystal.abler@hfhglmw.org or call 920-787-2888 to make an appointment to talk more about becoming a board member.
