HeartLove Place is a nonprofit Christian Ministry committed to serving Christ, Families and Communities since 1989. Services include youth and family programs- After School tutoring, Family Fun Night events, Parent Chat, Holiday Camps and School Out Field Trips, the Peace Park Community Garden, wellness programs, HLP baby closet (diapers and wipes for families in need), annual community events and job training in culinary arts.

We are looking for an energetic and compassionate Program Leader to join our youth and family development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children, teens and families. The ideal candidate is passionate about working within the community with schools, churches and other community based organizations in order to foster positive growth through structured programs, services and resources.
Qualifications
- College degree in social work, community education or related field preferred
- Must have a valid WI Driver’s License
- At least 2 years of experience working with youth and families
- Ability to drive 13 passanger van
- Avilability to work some weekends when needed
- At least an intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Word and Excel and social media marketing and using AI.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of programs for youth and families. Garden Education, Art, Recreation etc.
- Supervise children and teenagers during program activities to ensure safety and proper behavior management.
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes childhood development, social skills, and teamwork.
- Lead team efforts in setting up activities, managing supplies, and ensuring cleanliness of activity areas.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that respects diverse backgrounds and encourages positive interactions among participants.
- Outreach in order to recruit participants and market program, services and events.
- Transport program participants in HLP 12 seat passanger van-pick up & drop off from school and transport for field trips
Experience
- Prior experience working with youth and families programs is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire.
- Experience with outdoor work environments or camp settings is a plus.
- Background in early childhood education, childhood development, or special education is beneficial.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team of volunteers.
- Previous involvement in sports coaching, recreation, tutoring, or Christian counseling is advantageous.
