We have over 1,500 members and are one of the over 8,894 congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

About the Position:

Our next Facility Manager will support our congregation through the upkeep and management of our buildings and grounds with a focus on safety and comfort for all. Our ideal candidate is someone who is self starter and willing to work between 20 – 25 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

How you will make an impact:

  • Oversee building and grounds maintenance for all church facilities.
  • Serve as the liaison to all contracted providers of grounds and facilities maintenance.
  • Coordinate weekly cleaning schedules with janitorial services.
  • Oversee efficient operation and required preventive maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems per manufacturers requirements and AHJ requirements.
  • Establish and implement appropriate preventive maintenance protocols on all major building equipment and systems.
  • Work closely with the Parish Administrator to ensure successful reconfiguration of spaces based on church needs and timing.
  • Work with the Property Team in planning and implementing future projects.
  • Assist with event planning, HVAC scheduling and event support (e.g., memorial services, outreach events, etc.).

Your skills and experience:

To set you up for success, Holy Cross requires, at a minimum, the following qualifications:

  • High School + Equivalent Experience or Bachelor/4 Year Degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed further in this role include:

  • Experience: 2-5 years of facilities management experience.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral with emphasis on dispute resolution.
  • Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems.
  • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to respect at times the sensitive nature of members of Holy Cross.
  • Self-Reliant and motivated
