Job description:
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for Hope Center’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. The Executive Director is responsible for leading the entire staff and collaborating with other non-profit agencies in order to continue serving the basic needs of people. The Executive Director also plays a significant role in overseeing all fundraising activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, monitor, and mentor staff to achieve goals that contribute to the mission of the organization.
- Motivate and inspire the team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages teamwork, and demonstrates flexibility.
- Ensure the organization is adequately staffed, supported, and trained.
- Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of programs.
- Keep informed of trends and issues that could impact the Waukesha non-profit community.
- Understand how to measure and achieve program and agency outcomes.
- Lead fund development planning and implementation efforts in collaboration with the staff and board.
- Research, identify, and submit grant proposals and funding requests.
- Work with the board on the annual budget and prudently manage the organization’s resources within those budget guidelines.
- Ensure that the organization and its programs and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee community relations and act as the principal spokesperson for the organization.
Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of a four-year degree in a related field and/or 3-5 years of related experience in the non-profit industry. Previous supervisory experience as well as experience in the process of strategic planning is also required.
