About Us:

At Illumination Solar Training Systems (ISTS), we’re on a mission to make hands-on solar education accessible and engaging for everyone. We design and deliver award-winning mobile solar training labs that bring real-world PV skills to students across the hemisphere. We approach our partners and the world with humility and respect, fostering inclusive collaborations that empower the clean energy transition. Based in South-Central Wisconsin, we’re scaling our impact and are looking for a versatile assistant to support our operations as we grow.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a part-time Administrative & Resource Coordinator (15-20 hours/week, flexible, remote schedule) to provide executive support and help manage key workflows in our solar training ecosystem. This is an ideal role for someone organized, proactive, and passionate about renewable energy education – you’ll grow with us through on-the-job learning while helping ensure our hands-on labs and online training resources run smoothly, empowering the next generation of solar professionals. The start date is flexible but we’re ready to move quickly with the ideal candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executive Assistance: Assist in calendar management and task coordination for the programs, including website updates and prep for partnerships/events in the solar industry
  • Training Resource & Workflow Management: Oversee our instructor resource hub (updating digital materials, user access, formatting documents like guides/worksheets) and support course logistics (enrollment tracking, resource distribution, basic automation)
  • Graphic Design Support: Support graphic asset filing, usage and organization, contribute to in-house development of visuals (e.g., using Canva/PowerPoint), and coordinate with external designers as needed
  • Logistics Coordination: Support shipping, event setups, travel, and occasional purchasing/inventory tracking for our mobile training systems, focusing on efficiency
  • Ad Hoc Support: Assist with basic reporting, file organization for compliance/partnerships, and other tasks to keep things humming

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in administrative, coordination, or assistant roles (startup, education, or mission-driven org experience a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills with experience in tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (experience with Canva or graphic design software a plus)
  • Passion for renewable energy, education, and building things that make a positive impact – we have virtually endless opportunities for on-the-job training to grow your skills
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to thrive independently in a dynamic environment
  • Graphic design basics (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online platforms (e.g., forums, LMS systems) are highly desirable
  • Commitment to a mindset of humility and respect in all interactions with partners, communities, and stakeholders

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate ($20-35/hour, based on experience)
  • Flexible, part-time hours with growth potential as ISTS expands (including on-the-job training in solar education)
  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in clean energy education
  • Opportunity to attend and participate in industry events
  • Remote work with occasional in-person team syncs
