Program Coordinator – Gesher (Bridges)
The Harry and Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) is looking for a passionate and dedicated Program Coordinator to lead our Gesher (Hebrew for “bridges”) program. Gesher is a vital part of our community, focusing on fostering independence, building social connections, and teaching essential life skills to adults with disabilities.
As the Gesher Program Coordinator, you will be a pivotal leader, developing and implementing engaging daily programs that bring our vision to life. This is a full-time position (30-35 hours/week) with core program hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
What You’ll Do:
Lead Program Development:

Design and implement a diverse, age-appropriate curriculum.

Create and manage a monthly calendar of engaging activities both inside and outside the JCC.
Provide Participant Support:

Serve as a role model for appropriate social skills and positive interactions.

Guide participants through real-life experiences, including meal planning, money management, personal hygiene, and technology use.

Implement behavioral support techniques and manage conflicts calmly and effectively.

Transport participants to and from outings using a 14-passenger JCC vehicle.
Collaborate and Manage:

Work with the Disability Inclusion Director to build new partnerships within the JCC and the community.

Ensure program documentation, data collection, and reports meet state and grant requirements.

Oversee program staffing, supplies, and logistics to ensure a high-quality experience.

Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum age of 25 with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to certify upon hire).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and Outlook.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This role is active and requires the ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The majority of hours are during the weekday, but some flexibility is required to accommodate meetings, trainings, and special events during evenings and weekends.
