The Director is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of Sawyer County Pretrial Services, Deflection Program, Diversion Program, Jail Programs, and the Recovery Court. This individual is responsible for supervising and directing staff in the provision of court and client services, ensuring program activities and services are documented, and fulfilling contractual obligations. The Director will work both independently and in collaboration with the administration team in recruiting, hiring, training, and ensuring the program and staff meet established performance outcomes. This program serves a population of clients who are economically, racially, and ethnically diverse; cultural competence is an integral characteristic of the ideal candidate for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adequate staffing to fulfill contract obligations through the oversight of recruitment, hiring, and training of program staff
- Manage a team of 6 individuals providing screening, case management, and navigation services
- Create, review, and update staff training policy, procedure, and training manuals as needed
- Ensure court reports, program policies, and quality assurance policies are updated and followed
- Maintain all forms and documents needed to operate and track case outcomes and services
- Provide ongoing review and quality assurance for case management services, casework documentation, and court reports
- Complete and provide reports to all funding sources as required in the contract for services
- Assist with grant and RFP identification, application, and on-going reporting in collaboration with County partners and administration
- Develop and maintain relationships with County and State stakeholders, as well as community partners
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Behavioral Sciences, or related field, or a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields and equivalent managerial experience in criminal justice or human services
- Applied knowledge and understanding of mental illness, substance abuse, and the effects of poverty on various socioeconomic groups
- Working knowledge of community mental health and AODA treatment resources
- Prior experience in management and staff supervision in pretrial, criminal justice, or human services program
- Prior experience working with individuals from diverse economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate professionally & accurately, both orally and written
- Organized, attentive to detail, and able to work independently
- Pass a pre-employment background check
- Valid driver’s license and automobile with insurance
