Position Overview:

The Wrap-Around Case Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting individuals participating in the Dane County Treatment Court Program (DCTP) and Dane County Diversion Program (DCDP), which serve as alternatives to incarceration for those facing substance use challenges. This role focuses on helping participants overcome their involvement with the criminal legal system, achieve sobriety, and establish positive connections within the community. The Case Manager provides comprehensive cognitive-behavioral intervention services in line with agency guidelines and standards for Diversion and Treatment Courts. Responsibilities include orienting clients to the program, linking them to treatment services such as Comprehensive Community Services (CCS), completing risk and substance use assessments, administering drug screenings, monitoring progress, reporting to the court, and providing advocacy services. Supporting a population involved in the criminal legal system, often facing socioeconomic challenges, demands strong problem-solving skills and a case manager who is both compassionate and empathetic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct observed urine drug and alcohol screenings for clients (the collector must match the gender of the client).
  • Perform face to face substance use and criminogenic risk assessments both in the office and at the Dane County Jail.
  • Use risk assessment results to develop individualized case plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 20 participants, providing personalized case management and group programming.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions and refer participants to appropriate community resources.
  • Monitor participants’ compliance with program agreements, tracking attendance and progress in required areas.
  • Prepare and submit accurate, timely written reports to the court.
  • Attend case staffing meetings as needed to discuss participant progress.
  • Maintain up-to-date, detailed case records in the electronic database.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the program’s mission.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Services field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Experience working with clients involved in the criminal justice system is preferred.
  • Familiarity with community mental health and AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse) treatment resources is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse economic, racial, ethnic, and LGBTQ+ backgrounds.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Commitment to upholding and promoting JusticePoint’s core values and “Difference Principles.”

Schedule: Full-time position with flexible scheduling options: Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday (depending on program needs at the time of hire). Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
