The Kellogg PEAK Initiative is seeking full-time summer seasonal counselors to join our Day Camp team in Milwaukee, WI and our Residential (overnight) Camp team in Boscobel, WI. We are looking for a diverse team of people to provide an incredible leadership development experience for our campers this summer. Regardless of career path, our summer staff gain leadership and professional skills that will serve them for the rest of their lives, such as communication, flexibility, creativity, problem solving, and relationship-building.

Starting at $650/week for counselors at Lake Valley Camp (housing and meals are included). Increased rate of pay for counselors who are hired to take on additional responsibilities, such as Program Counselors who lead activities such as Boating, Archery, Teambuilding, etc.

Starting at $650/week for counselors in Milwaukee.

Increased rate of pay for positions with increased responsibilities at both sites.

Basic Function & Responsibility at Lake Valley Camp:

  • Set the tone and guide a group of young people on a journey of self-exploration, challenge, and fun for 11 days at a time.  (3 standard sessions are 11 days each. We also have shorter sessions like Teen Camp and Family Camp.)
  • Live in a cabin with a co-counselor and 8-10 campers, and assume responsibility for the physical and emotional wellbeing of campers during all on-duty hours (20-22 hours per day, as scheduled).
  • Provide active supervision and attention to ensure campers are encouraged, safe, active, accepted, well-rested and generally cared for.
  • All meals are provided during camp sessions. Counselors are expected to sit with and engage with their campers at meals, and to eat the camp food provided with the campers.
  • Guide your campers through their fear, frustration, lots of laughter, bumps, bruises, learning through failure and moments of absolutely amazing accomplishment.
  • Assist in preparation of and actively participate in camp programming including evening activities, camper choice time, bus duty, and more.

Basic Function & Responsibility at Milwaukee Day Camps:

  • Guide a group of young people (Grades 6-8 ) on a journey of self-exploration, challenge, and fun for 6 weeks (3 two-week sessions).
  • Deliver pre-designed programming that offers growth and meaningful progression for youth leadership development with a particular focus on collaboration, self-awareness and resilience.
  • Provide active supervision and attention to ensure campers are encouraged, safe, active, and accepted.
  • Guide your campers through their fear, frustration, lots of laughter, bumps, bruises, learning through failure and moments of absolutely amazing accomplishment.
  • Support campers in setting and achieving their goals for the camp session, and write participation notes for each camper to acknowledge their achievements.
