The Local 212 MATC Believe in Students FAST Fund is an independent, non-profit organization that provides rapid financial assistance to Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) students experiencing economic emergencies so they remain enrolled and graduate. 

We are seeking an innovative Executive Director who will actively engage with and report to the Board of Directors and have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Local 212 FAST Fund.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management:

  • Act as the public face of the FAST Fund, presenting a professional and positive image of the organization to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct rigorous program evaluation to ensure consistent quality of program finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals to the Board as needed.
  • Actively lead, coach, develop and energize volunteers and staff.
  • Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors; serve as ex-officio of each Board committee; seek and build board involvement with strategic direction.
  • Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.

Fundraising & Communications:

  • Engage in fundraising activities to support and expand program operations. This includes grant writing, attending public hearings, public speaking events, our Giving Tuesday campaign, and in-person fundraising events.
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating stronger awareness of the FAST Fund.
  • Be a strong local and national presence who communicates program results with an emphasis on the successes of the local program, and act as a model for regional and national replication.

Qualifications

Our next Executive Director will be action-oriented, and thoroughly committed to the FAST Fund’s mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience.

Specific requirements include:

  • At least 3 years of non-profit, higher education, or related management experience; track record of effectively leading and scaling a performance and outcomes-based organization.
  • Knowledge of resources available at MATC and from other organizations to help students.
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
  • Past success communicating and working with a Board of Directors.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people including college administration, students, faculty, staff, local leaders, and politicians.
  • Experience with client and financial management systems, fundraising platforms, Google suite, Microsoft office.

Compensation

Salary $70,000 to $86,000 with 3% retirement match. Health benefits negotiable. Competitive holiday and vacation package.
