General Purpose
The Driver is to safely transport and meet the transportation needs of Meta House clients.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Safe, timely, organized client transport
- Proper vehicle maintenance, fueling, appearance
- Mail and package delivery and distribution
- Transport scheduling
- Communication with coworkers via phone, walkie talkie and email
- Able to work flexible hours with preplanning including weekends
Marginal Functions of the Job
- Listening to clients’ concerns during transportation
- Assist clients with moving
- Other duties as may be periodically or permanently assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of two years of professional driving
- Driver’s license, safe driving record, and proof of vehicle insurance
Other Skills Required
- Able to work in a multi-cultural setting
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Able to drive vehicles including 15-passenger van
- Vision correctable to DOT requirements
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods
- Able to negotiate stairs
- Must lift up to 25 pounds to assist in moving clients’ belongings
- Tolerate heat and cold driving conditions
- Exposure to gasoline when fueling vehicle
- All Meta House staff are required to provide proof of MMR, Varicella, and Annual Flu Vaccination
