The coordinator will play a central role in supporting our outdoor neighborhood-level sensor network, home radon testing program, and growing community partnerships.

  • Promote and support our outdoor and indoor air quality programs through community-facing activities and online channels.
  • Develop, maintain, and inventory program and event supplies.

Community Engagement & Education

  • Assist with planning and implementing MKE FreshAir-led events, including our annual Clean Air Month celebration in May.

Organizational Support

  • Provide input and creative ideas to strengthen and grow programs and outreach strategies.
  • Contribute to social media, newsletters, and digital engagement efforts, as needed.
  • Assist with grant reporting and documentation of community engagement activities.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If:

  • Passion for environmental justice, public health, or community organizing.
  • Experience in outreach, community engagement, or nonprofit program coordination.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Comfort with public speaking and representing the organization at events.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take initiative.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools (Google Suite, Microsoft Office); experience with Canva, Mailchimp, or social media platforms is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or Hmong/English) skills are a strong plus but not required.
