The welcoming community of Siena Retreat Center provides retreats and programs that renew lives, deepen holistic spirituality, and sow seeds of justice and compassion in our world. A ministry of the Racine Dominican Sisters since 1966, Siena Retreat Center serves several thousand people annually through diverse retreat and program offerings and services.

The Opportunity

Siena Retreat Center is seeking a highly relational fund development professional to lead the organization’s donor engagement and fundraising initiatives. Primary responsibilities include cultivation of donor relationships, solicitation of donations to meet development goals, and strategic leadership and implementation of annual fundraising initiatives. The Director of Development is responsible for securing philanthropic support to sustain and grow Siena Retreat Center’s programs and operations. While this is a newly created role, it builds on recent years’ of growth in our development initiatives.

Successful Candidates

Successful candidates have a minimum of three years’ successful experience in nonprofit development, donor relations, or fundraising; a bachelor’s degree or higher education in nonprofit management or related field; superb interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to cultivate respectful donor and community relationships; outstanding organizational skills; and a passion for making the world a more just and compassionate place through the types of programs and services offered by Siena Retreat Center.

Position Summary

This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position involving some local travel and some weekend and evening hours. Compensation includes a competitive salary (range of $54,000 to $58,000) and benefits package. The Director of Development works closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing, Executive Director, other staff members, and Board Directors to implement organizational goals creatively and strategically. With the exception of travel to meet donors, this position is on-site.
